Here's my favorite apple crisp recipe. I think it's even better than
my Mom's!
Apple Crisp
5 or 6 tart apples peeled, cored and thinly sliced
juice of 1/2 a lemon
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamin
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick cold, unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
Place the apple slices in an 8 inch cake pan and toss with lemon
juice. Press down to even out the apples.
Prepare the topping by combining all the dry ingredients first. Then
cut in the butter until the mixture resembles a coarse meal. (This
works really well in a food processor.) Spread the topping evenly over
the apples and press down. Bake about 1 hour in a 350 degree oven.
Enjoy!
