- Here's my favorite apple crisp recipe. I think it's even better than
- my Mom's!
-
- Apple Crisp
-
- 5 or 6 tart apples peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- juice of 1/2 a lemon
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick cold, unsalted butter (1/2 cup)
-
- Place the apple slices in an 8 inch cake pan and toss with lemon
- juice. Press down to even out the apples.
-
- Prepare the topping by combining all the dry ingredients first. Then
- cut in the butter until the mixture resembles a coarse meal. (This
- works really well in a food processor.) Spread the topping evenly over
- the apples and press down. Bake about 1 hour in a 350 degree oven.
-
- Enjoy!
